>Giving the goblins slings and daggers
Honest question but how much is that relevant? My whole life (DMing previous expansions for instance), I would just use random stats blocks regardless of what the monsters "look like" (for instance, what they yield/use). However, a couple of years back I tried to DM for some canadians and one of them was annoyed that mobs didn't use the proper damage roll of their weapons...
For instance, I was going to describe the goblins as using crude weapons like pieces of wood or stones or whatever, as I intended them to be trashy goblins (even for goblin standard)
>you could also probably use Kobold statblocks instead
Not a bad idea at all! Will compare both, might use kobold indeed

Eh, I don't buy into that. We are doing a family party - one of the girls is the wife of the seasoned player and the mother of the teenager, the other is my own GF. So the idea is more about the people rather than the game

>Depends slightly on if you're using the 2014 or 2024 rules
Any thoughts on that? I was going for the 2014 rules but not sure I understand the differences
>it might not be a bad idea to make a selection of premade characters
DESU I personally am a big fan of that, I think character creation is overrated (especially when introducing people to the hobby). Nevertheless, they have already decided to create their own characters
One of the players is my GF so I might ask her if she wants to make the character or just choose the high concept (race, class and background). The rest are just numbers anyways
