You never know when you may need it, and a measly extra rank on the main engine is a negligible bonus compared to a full S-rank engine on a character from another team that may need it later

Most quests being mute has nothing to do with muh VA wages, it's so that people's phones and pcs don't run out of disk space because of some one-off whothefuckcares quest. Audio files take a ton of space.
