Sensei is traveling to Porta Pacis to try to have a talk with Subaru. Maia is impressed by sensei's determination, and says she want to become someone like sensei or Subaru. Saori quietly quibbles that Maia is still supporting and looking up to Subaru after what happened, and Misaki comments that Subaru has always been good at drawing people to her side, even though she has no self awareness of her talent. In the underground storage, Subaru keeps reading the book, which says the thought of coexistence with Gehenna was the heretical one, and thus Trinity are heretics for adopting it and suppressing the dissidents. It berates their arrogance, then proceeds to write out vanitas vanitatum et omnia vanitas in full. The book records the changes in Arius ruling class, but is also full of curses against Trinity and Gehenna, which Subaru at this point are sick of. She wants guidance on what to do, and details on the angels with trumpets. She keeps reading, and eventually the book says "the world becomes scavenger and those who are eaten will die. Yet the truth will nourish life, and those who grow up on truth will never die. In other words, angels are no more than the manifestation of your own image." This is the first time Subaru comes across this, and as she ponders its meaning, a bright white light envelops her and just like Mine, she watches how the Trinity-Arius schism unfolded. A voice then tells her present is built on pass and therefore cannot be separated from it. It says Arius must continue to dwell on how different their lives would be if the excommunication never happened. Subaru asks the voice who it is. The voice replies "Arius (we) are what's left of us (Arius)..."
