There are scams people will try to run even with just knowing your paypal account, I've received a few. They send a fake invoice so that it comes from a real paypal email as a notification, but use the comments to put in a fake support message with a fake support phone number to 'cancel' the transaction, usually for a large amount of money so as to instill panic in the victims. I've never fallen for it because it's pretty obvious to me but they likely succeed in tricking enough people to make it worth the effort. I probably get them because some company I used paypal for sold my payment details. Picrel is one I got a few days ago. None of the details are real, never had a card with those numbers, but someone in a panic might not notice.
