I wouldn't say it's shit, drawing the 8s is an insta-riichi if still early, even if you lose value it's a decent wait and it's not like getting a big hand is a must here. 5s would be nice too, especially if aka. Although drawing 9s could be very awkward.
Mortal prefers sanshoku, while MAKA prefers ittsu. With the latter giving 7s more consideration.
