Many rules do say that a starting elf character should be around 100 years old, but gives them a small bonus in wisdom or something similar that in no way represents a lifetime of experiences.
Either give elf starting characters stat bonuses and skills commensurate with 100 years of experience or have them start at late teens like everyone else
