Marriage is an institution of procreation and creating family units. Marriage is NOT solely the evolution of a relationship to a more serious commitment, which it has been turned into watered down by gay-marriage.
If you wanna make a salient argument against gay-marriage, which there is one, is that marriage is an institution that promotes, creates and protects families AND procreation. It gives special status and special resources to families to help promote procreation and keep the family unit together. Gay marriage can only ape that (poorly) through adoption and degrades the institution of marriage as a mockery of being nothing more than a milestone in a relationship becoming more serious. Being married came with the commitment and expectation of procreation and family creation. If you're getting married and not doing that, it's an abuse and misuse of that institution and it's resources.
