4chan lost its internet isolationist culture + the drop off of people making OC + the website becoming more and more mainstream (it's easy to blame the election for this but 4chan has also just been widely known long before 2016).
There are accounts on twitter that will just take screenshots of threads on here to repost for clicks. A few years ago I made a thread talking about something something Smash Bros and a few hours later someone linked a twitter post that was 1:1 my post reposted on twitter with a hundred plus RTs.
4chan got sucked into the fold, the people posting now have no idea "we" used to hate reddit, reposting and crossposters with a passion. If there's an internet secret club, it sure as hell isn't here.
