NTA but the fact that she plays the same things without them isn't necessarily an issue or point against "freedoms."
After all, if she wants to play them she can just boot up the game and hit "go live."
In holo though you'd need to do a whole song and dance of perms autism while praying they respond to you within a few business months, only for it to be a coinflip if it's yes or no.
And even then, for some games you'd only be able to play it for a few specific days so if you don't finish it then, you gotta start all over.

In the end, it's always been about the red tape. For example, in Holo, you can technically play RE4, but it has to be the censored japanese version, and you're not allowed to play the ending or credits or whatever. As an indie, she can play the full english version without worrying about anything.
