She didn't force the plot point. Maple had "Get Piccolo involved" as a plan, players voted for it, but once Piccolo's demands went too far, they refused.

Although she was nudging in that direction, since the Piccolo idea, and another one, were vague, clearly to catch the other players' attention, but the Piccolo idea had a way to back off.

I can never understand the appeal of that, it's telling the same story, but now worse... Tuffle Quest did that with King Piccolo arc, and imo, it's the worst arc because it's just King Piccolo all over again, with none of its highs.
