I’ve had this problem in our wow guild (just a bunch of irl friends who like to push raid content, we usually clock out of a expansion after we hit AOTC), and we have a few guys that don’t want to play the game but still want to raid. It’s annoying because they never try to gear up on the side. The rest of the lads will at least be in item level range of the raid but these other dudes say they can’t gear up cause they have kids, but it’s like why raid with us when you can’t even survive the mechanics? I felt bad this time around cause they sincerely wanted AOTC but we simply couldn’t carry them in the last two bosses, we had to clear it without them and they are salty about it. Left out wow group chat lol.

Well not anymore, that’s the problem with nu wow, they make these characters far to involved. With legion remix and playing through the stories, none of the characters that involved with the campaign. It was still the proper wow formula, where the main characters give you the chores while they set things up off screen. You guys regroup get a rundown on what the main characters are up to/did, and then you talk about what’s next or what happened. Go back to wrath, imagine Tirion following you around every few quests giving commentary on the scourge and then randomly feeling bad for them over the course of the expansion ect. The final act with Tirion and Arthas was fantastic partly because Tirion never overstayed his welcome, and when he did show up in the plot it made you excited or confident some good shit was about to go down
