I have this problem where I keep telling people that I want to make art and music, but when I'm by myself I'm too burnt out or hungry to actually get better and practice. For me it starts with simply not knowing what or how to practice. Artistically I'm intermediate and don't think I need any major help, but for music I'm absolutely fucking stumped. I commonly forget something right after it's been told to me in any music lesson and just jam. And jamming is pretty good, it's just... I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing, what tuning I'm in, I just play it by ear. People say it's talent but it's nothing cohesive outside of just basic pattern recognition. I don't know, can anyone help?
