Arc 5 is the only Arc in the series that I would recommend watching the anime over reading the WN/LN.
Way too many different POVs from characters you will never see again, way too many flashbacks of characters you may not give a fuck about and way too many fights that end up feeling boring because Tappei doesn't write fights that well.
If you really don't want to watch the anime but still care about re zero, just watch a S3 YT summary, you'll end up hating the series if your introduction to the web novel is Priestella of all things.
