Susie is the most straightforwardly heroic of the heroes, headstrong and naive and idealistic, compared to Kris and Ralsei who are both far more compromised and cynical (Kris is an outright double agent)
Kris has twice come to Susie's rescue on their own, brandishing their shield to defend her from an enemy's attack. Kris wields a sword, but they've only taken action to protect others. Also, Kris is a dog.
Gaster and The Forgotten Man talk about "Deltarune" like it's both somewhere to be reached and something to be attained. "DELTARUNE will be waiting," "HOW MUCH LONGER NOW? MY DELTARUNE." This is not too dissimilar from the titular "Kingdom Hearts," and "the Delta Rune" itself is most clearly directly inspired by the Triforce, another iconic object that is a vessel for the tremendous holy power of Light.
These are all stories that rely heavily on fundamental symbolism and archetypes to construct their narrative, it certainly doesn't hurt to analyze and compare them through this lens.
