Unlike traditional lab power supplies, they only do the DC-DC part, so you need to feed it with DC power at least ~1V higher than the output you want. But, that also means you can pair it with just about any sort of DC source you have available, such as a laptop charger, power tool battery, drone battery, surplus PoE switch power supply, or a USB PD charger and trigger board.
