Hello again /dng/,
Yesterday me and a friend opened some cases of the delayed BLMM set and I must say that I am incredibly disappointed and will probably never buy another Battles of Legends set again.
>The good
The chibis and the alt art look fantastic and are very easy to pull. I was a bit iffy on them at first but they look great and luckily don't have any misprints. Some of the included reprints are also quite nice. Sifr and Maximus were really due for a reprint and talents and droplets are are always nice. Lastly the Time Wizard reprints weren't obnoxious these time around like in Bonanza.
>The bad
People bought this set so they could play with the "new" toys and frankly they are way too difficult to pull. Even with 4 cases in total you could only barely make any of the new decks. My friend got incredibly lucky and managed to pull two lady dmaid and two galatea-I. What we did see a whole lot was a bunch of cards that didn't need reprinting because they already had plenty of reprints, and the shiny new logo doesn't justify them cluttering the card pool to this extent. Also there's just way too much garbage especially for the Jurracs and Gem-Knights. You don't have to reprint the garbarge like Gem Elephant and Jurrac Velphito that people didn't even want to play in 2010, much less now. Some of the reprints outside of those archetypes feel incredibly redudant, the dragonrules again? Lancea again? King of the feral Imps? Call of the fucking eathbound why?! Lastly the set has a lot of misprints (does it even count as a misprint if they all have it?) due to misaligned text which looks very amateurish. I get that these were probably rushed due to the fuckup, but come on that doesn't make it better.
In conclusion this set deserves to rot on store shelves and konami doesn't deserves your money. There's absolutely no reason not to just buy the singles since this set doesn't respect your space or the trees that were killed for Gem Knight merchant.
