The Kaaba as a Heavenly Structure Cast Down to Earth
In Islamic tradition:
1. The Kaaba Was Originally a House for Adam
>According to many Islamic scholars and early commentators (like Ibn Kathir), the first Kaaba was built by Prophet Adam.
>It was a replica of the heavenly Kaaba known as al-Bayt al-Ma’mur (The Frequented House), which exists in the seventh heaven and is visited by angels.
>Some narrations say that God sent down a “white stone” (or a radiant, heavenly stone) from Jannah (Paradise) to serve as a marker or foundation for the Kaaba on Earth.
>This stone later turned black due to the sins of mankind — this is tied to the Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad) now embedded in the corner of the Kaaba.
