The sonic movies are willing to do their own take on the lore if it better fits the story. Like fusing the chaos emeralds into the master emerald is stupid, but its done for plot reasons. So I can at least respect it. I don't really respect movies like the mario movie or minecraft one, they just feel like product placements vs a real coherent story.
