I feel like I keep a decently healthy mix of modern and older games. One thing I've noticed is that my genre preferences seem to vastly differ between them. I'm much more action-oriented for older games, while I'm a lot more into things like adventure and puzzle games for new releases. I don't think it has anything to do with action games necessarily getting worse, I think it more has to do with me getting old, but also avoiding big budget AAA dogshit. I mostly stick with indie titles which don't really have the budgets that allow for high-quality action so easily. NG4 is probably the biggest release I'll be interested in for quite some time.
