His has been a life of privilege, and he wishes for nothing but the maintenance of that life, at the expense of everyone else. He is widely reviled through town, but money talks, and he's hoping that it'll get him the Mayoral nomination. Why does he even want to be Mayor? He doesn't, not in the way most people want it, but it's a title and he'll be damned if he won't get it anyway. He's gotten everything else he's ever wanted, and there'll be hell to pay if Jebediah doesn't get what he wants.
