I honestly like the Aceified Roger design more than the one on the left in your pic, I never liked that look. Of course I miss the original look most of all, though Toei's Roger looked always looked leaner and cooler than Oda's.

Roger had already lost most of his air of intrigue when they revealed his actual face design, and then his personality as a goofy psuedo-Luffy. At least with the anime version, which had built his image up more with filler like him at the Loguetown bar.
