It isn't so much as the failure in the pursuit of art as it as the upper echelons of the industry becoming an ever tighter circlejerk that somehow still manages to be even more and more out of touch with bideo james with every passing year. There were always some absolute bullshit snubs (Library of Ruina comes to mind) but as the years go on they keep happening more and more and being higher profile.

Nobody watches TGA for the awards, they watch them in hope of some worthwhile announcements. The actual award show is a complete fucking sham on par with the Oscars.
