I've never understood the entitlement behind "the evil path in this RPG owes me REPLACEMENT companions." It treats characters like they're Christmas presents, and obviously the evil-but-cool kids are jealous of the nice, well-behaved kids getting more toys. Maybe an organic story shouldn't spawn evil replacements just so you can feel good about being bad. Most relevant BG3 companions are Morally Gray anyway. You can live without the moralfags on your Coldsteel the Edge run.
