You are still committing the critical mistake of assuming the characters possess meta knowledge. The power-hungry Minthara of your scenario, who is looking for a suitable partner to accompany her on her most evil schemes, wouldn't think much of Gale, because he offers nothing but delusions of grandeur - to say nothing of his dubious moral compass. Only at the very end would it turn out that he's right about being able to wield the power of the crown, when countless others have failed before him. Plot armor saves his ass, but the characters within a story cannot know that until after the fact. You are still failing the Sally-Anne test used to diagnose autistic children who struggle with theory of mind - the ability to understand that others (such as characters in a story) may have thoughts different from yours (as a player). But I get it - you share a thread with already stupid posters that do struggle with theory of mind, so you feel emboldened to double down on your ignorance. Refuge in crass stupidity, like a certain pig.

It's just one banter line that the unintelligent shitposter is using as a basis for delusional rambling. Consider the fact that Minthara is a drow and could easily live for hundreds more years. Immortality isn't that much of an upgrade at that point. I think her view on being subservient to a higher power speaks louder than a banter line, but feel free to construct a whole theory about what that banter line really means.
