>Bigger hub
>But better mobility
>and also map markers and guided paths to your destination
All these ultimately lend to a forgettable game world, that people aren't going to remember. I can navigate Santa Monica through memory, because I was stuck walking the streets like any other pedestrian, and this lends to a stronger impression of the zone; had I been able to just jump across rooftops, and glide everywhere while following directional guidance, I wouldn't have internalized the layout, observed the detail put into the world, and gotten a chance to soak in the atmosphere - little lines uttered by NPCs as I pushed past them are going to be with me forever, but I won't be hearing hobos mutter about crab nipples when I'm jumping from roof top to roof top, and the tops of buildings generally aren't too exciting to observe. It feels like any effort put on detailing the streets will be wasted, as players just jump all over the place like spastics.
