This map >>150702378 is based on longitude. What we have in actual use is a patch work of political decisions that causes local time to deviate away from solar time. It's not like the US in unique in this. Lots of countries, especially China with its one time zone for the entire country, are far worse.

South Carolina, Florida, and Texas would be the only members outside of the Central Time Zone. Swapping Clemson and FSU in for the first two would be viable, but Texas wants to be with Oklahoma, so either Texas gets to be special or both have to be replaced/eliminated.
