It's kinda hard to explain since there's a lot of subtlety involved, but wokenes isn't just haveing faggotry, troonery and niggardry in your product, but how it's presented to the consumer. Yes, Baldur's Gate has DEI elements, but they're not presented in an aggressive way. If you want to experience these things, you have to actively look for them.
Plus, there's the fact that the characters are aesthetically pleasing to look at, even the ones who aren't supposed to be conventionally beautiful, and the models are of high quality instead of being the DEI standard of "ordinary people wearing prosthetics and makeup".
And... it's even harder to explain, but we know when the DEI elements are implemented in a woke way, out of spite towards the consumer. Like "we know who our customer base are, we know what they want, and we won't give them".
AC Shadows was precisely that.
