It will burst but it will be more like 2008 than dotcom. Western governments have already put all their data into AI companies, including sensitive military and medical data, so when the bubble bursts there's going to be massive bail-outs. AI will keep on going as a useless accessory that can no longer be disentangled from the apparatus of state, and all the AI company CEOs will get big, fat, bail-out bonuses to retire on or reinvest in some new tech bubble (which I seriously believe was their plan all along).
TL;DR The AI bubble will burst, and the taxpayers will be the ones paying for it.
