NTA, but /v/ went nuts over Kris's relationship with Susie and Noelle in the normal and weird routes, respectively. Kris and Susie have a number of bonding moments with impending tragedy, while in the weird route Kris is reluctantly sucked into a romance with a girl he cares about, but whom he is outright forced to rape. Either angle has genuine dimension and interest to the romance which is why so many people talk about it. What has people on edge is the possibility of Susie and Noelle who have no chemistry becoming the "canonical ship." If you scratch out Suselle, chapters 3 and 4 were pretty good.
