honestly that's a fair point, the shitposter i was originally replying to was just adamant on anthros not having any artistic value as they could just be easily replaced with humans. i think the main differentiating point is that you can define species-wide rules, kinda like with robots, without going into specifics for each character which allows for more creative freedom and keeps the whole narrative more tight. you know - the classic "orcs and elves being just recolored humans" situation but with more flavour.

i've been also thinking about making something featuring cyborg anthros myself for a while, it's an untapped niche (although i am more into their fluffy cousins who unfortunately have a pretty bad reputation). a mechanic/surgeon simulator hybrid of sorts, where you'll run your small, semi-legal shop fixing, healing and doing things official clinics do not offer, like jailbreaking individual limbs or doing cheap replacements with scavenged parts. you'd have to acquire the parts yourself and there has to be a separate layer to managing your workshop with marketing, reputation and everything.
too bad i am a lazy retard.
