If functions are a mapping of values to other values, why can't I subtract two functions to get the difference in domains? eg
f1(x) = {1 -> 2, 2 -> 3, 3 -> 4}
f2(x) = {1 -> 2}

f1 - f2 = {2 -> 3, 3 -> 4}
