I prefer it on lib carbine since it's nice for the reload speed and ergo but I think at this point it's pretty much up to preference, at least for the rifles. For the shotguns, short vs drum does actually affect ammo economy but I haven't leveled the shotguns enough to have enough of an opinion on them
