>Twitter/X is planning to automatically dox the country of every account, but one can opt out afterwards. It's also sounding like those who configure to hide it might be de-prioritized in the post displaying algorithm, given Elon's previous statements showing he does not like anonymity, especially those who say bad things about a certain country, and prefers to "out" every user (i.e. "full transparency" as he calls it, at the cost of privacy). It's unclear how they will obtain the country, but it's likely they'll use the country associated with the last IP the account was logged in with.
