Trey Parker (writes all the episodes) all but admitted he is politically naïve with the 2016 Garrison/Trump plotline. He got it wrong and bitterly carried on with that lame angle for years, ruining both political and school-based storylines for several seasons. It got so lame that, a couple years ago, they did a Garrison vacation plotline all but begging Biden to stay in office, so they didn't have to return him to politics. Anyways, Parker can regain his political legitimacy by taking a stand on Israel/Gaza, but we know he won't.
Per pic related, Parker also said he wouldn't give Trump the satisfaction of making a character of him. Now, CBS gives him a gajillion dollars and he makes a character. Hmmm.
Anyways, the interesting thing about the first episode, was that even though they did some Trump jokes that were tired a decade ago (muh peepee, muh sue me), there was some subversive shit.
