Question:
Anyone ever buy a Rock Island 1911 in .38 super and convert it to 9mm?
Was it as easy as dropping in a new 9mm barrel from RIA or did you have trouble requiring a smith to fit it?

Where I am at there are no cheap 1911 pistols in 9mm, they all start at 1000 and up.
Someone local is selling what looks like a brand new RIA GI 1911 in .38 super for 400
It even comes with the case, two mags and 50rds of .38 super.
I would love to get it and convert it to 9mm but if it doesn't work I'd hate to be stuck with a gun thats too expensive to shoot regularly
