[Report]
A little over a year ago I went to jail for two days because of an altercation I got with my aunt who I'm two years older than. She lied to the cops and said I choked her so I got charged with assault by strangulation. Had to go to court for months but it eventually got dismissed because she dropped the charges because she knew she didn't have a case against me. Even though I got it dismissed I still have it on my record and anyone who knows my name could search me up and it shows that I "assaulted a family member by strangulation". They'll see my mugshot too which I look kinda shitty in. Like at this point I honestly wouldn't give a shit if the charge just said assault on family member because that's vague enough to assume I had a fight with my dad or a male family member. You just know people would automatically know strangulation means against a woman. Am I just overthinking it? Do people often look up other peoples criminal history? And if they do, do they really care as long as the crimes aren't the worst of the worst?
