It was planned to be an utterly gigantic multi-disk RPG. Therefore the first disk starts out slow. Then they ran out of money. So a bunch of plot is squeezed into the end of the first disk, and then unbelievably in a feat that has never been replicated in any game before or since the second disk is largely CHARACTERS SITTING IN A CHAIR EXPLAINING THE PLOT BECAUSE WE RAN OUT OF MONEY TO MAKE A GAME. Those explanations are occasionally interrupted by disconnected dungeons made of whatever they had done when they had to ship the game and a rushed albeit interesting ending.

If you're in the thread and you haven't seen it you should definitely look up what happens with the second disk because it is LUDICROUS how they just completely blatantly ran out of money and decided to just WRITE the game they were going to make in the game!
