As of late, its a byproduct of our society being hyper polarized and publicized. We hear of these edge cases and immediately act like they are next door. The world has become a giant Jerry Springer episode xD. Everyone has an opinion now, even on things they will never see themselves, and social media shovels content down our throats, making the world smaller. everyone feels like they're standing in the public eye and social pressures are at an all time high. Smaller word, high social pressure, people on the edge feel the squeeze.

But it's more than that really. I think the advent of public schooling and women's rights had an even more pronounced effect on underage sex. That isn't to say women shouldn't have rights, far from it... but that they are the group that has the most to lose, and the most to gain from being the loudest voice.

I love philosophical discussions! though idk about this medium, i'd much rather discuss in a less public, more slow burn chat like discord or session or email.
