They're usually in medicine or tech. Their median household income is >$150K. They're >2x less likely to be criminals than American citizens and more likely to report crimes than them as well.
By all metrics, Indian immigrants contribute massive amounts of taxes to state and federal budgets while earning so much they receive little to none of our entitlement spending. Most are secular Hindus and their children assimilate and become high earners as well.
Opposition to Indian immigrants (and India, generally) is silly. It's a massive country full of hardworking people who are very willing to shore up our massive doctor shortages and contribute towards imperiled social security funding. Curtailing their immigration is suicide.
