I dislike homosexuals and wish they'd all get back in the closet like in the 80s

Used to be that when the going gets tough, the tough drop acid and rock n roll. No seriously, most of the genre defining music came out during uncertain times (Vietnam war, cold war, riots). It was a form of escapism, and is the reason why those years are looked back upon so fondly despite all the crap that went down back then.

People have every reason to be on the edge and upset today, every reason to indulge in escapism, but there is no awesome music. Barely anything good. It's all the same pop/rap garbage. What happened?
