As a circumcised man, I’ve come to realize that, deep down, most parents want to be tyrants. They want to be Stalin. They want to be Mao.

But they are not smart enough for that. They are not wealthy enough for that. They are not influential enough for that. But what they can do is have 3 sons and be the tyrant of their own little household for 18+ years. And so they do.
