Perhaps not to the extent that they did, but the fact Stalin was not using any of the advanced modern equipment he had is telling. He didn't care if he failed to conquer Finland. He wanted to appear as weak as possible before the big strike. Just the deception was too powerful and actually got Hitler believing he could conquer the Soviets with no winter clothing etc, whilst fighting a two front war and relying on the Soviets for resources. Which is why in the opening phase of the war the Germans destroyed 20,000 offensive tanks and captured millions of Soviets trained in offensive tactics only. Yet still lost.

You are surrounded by the Communist block, Cuba, majority of South America, Mexico has multiple Chinese bases, Biden deliberately allowed 10,000s of Chinese/Russian/Iranian operatives in, the Chinese have bought up all land around your military sites and so on. Taiwan is another deception like Ukraine, they have little interest in Taiwan and are building up their army to conquer you.
