That's inaccurate.
The motion that was voted on was to cede the floor to the Democrats to discuss release of the files. In all likely hood the Dems would have done their typical dog and pony routine of making a punch of speeches about how outraged they are about Donald Trump and then done absolutely nothing.
The Dems are just using it as a political tool at the moment they've never demonstrated any interest in actually exposing the truth. They didn't in the 4 years Biden was in office and they aren't really doing so now, they're just putting on a show.
