>I can't see American sports catching
Regular football is a perfect fit for Brazil. Any kid with a ball anywhere can play it, even on uneven streets and narrow spaces between buildings. American football has a high cost just to be able to play it because of all the equipment. It has one advantage on how it is being introduced that normal football didn't have: all the social media and TV deals, where when it was introduced over a century ago, our national sport spread more slowly, with kids and common people watching and imitating wealthy people that played it on English clubs. Some people may like watching it here, but while actually being able to play it is still difficult, it won't catch on.
>the game may be fun, very fun, but it's like 80% ad time
I'll take American football over Baseball any day. A couple of years back, I watched Diamond no Ace (largely lauded as one of the best modern sports anime). It made the sport look so compelling. Then I went out of my way to watch a real match. It was so slow and boring by comparison.
