Gospel = good news

if it doesn't produce an attitude of hope (scripture says "we have this hope within us"), joy, or gratitude, then it is not the true Gospel. the only news that could produce a feeling of hope, joy and gratitude is grace, so this is along the correct lines of thinking

you need to figure out the rest on your own (or find a good KJV preacher), just know that "Jesus paying it all" is the only thing that makes sense as "good news". if it depends on you, then it is not good news at all, but miserable news. beware works based salvationists that try to sneak in "you need works". its by grace through faith, but you REALLY need to believe it

the good news is that Jesus covers all your sins, you're sealed and going to heaven for all eternity if you've truly believed, its the greatest joy you can possibly imagine (hell being the worst thing you could imagine). that's why its to be celebrated. that's why you can look forward to dying and have a spring in your step. you live life holding onto the promise of that hope

dont misunderstand God, his will toward mankind is good..."for God so loved the world he gave His Son", "he's not willing that any should perish". when you believe Jesus, its as if you're 100% pure in Gods eyes

God is 100% pure. that's why 1 sin sends you to hell and cuts you off from God, and why you need Jesus perfect life to cover your sin, without that, you cannot be in Gods 100% pure presence
