Wild ass guess: The VESSEL is a copy, because copies are monochrome. Truechara probably exists or existed in Deltarune original just like the colored door exists in Toby's copy. In that universe, Deltarune is a rather boring life sim/RPG where two humans beat the crap out of everything.
