I think the doodles are him getting back to those old days of the four page chapters when lewd was the punchline and not the objective. Especially since the recent ten second ubsurd scribbles to full sketches that could that actually be canon. Reminds me of when he did a couple 4komas back in the day. He probably misses comedy.
