im positive that LC may have lasted a few decades in total
by the end they used all their cool things and resources to have the last 50 days last the thousand of years it was needed for the light to come out
i think the most of plot device we could be lacking would be the issue of LC providing energy for the city. obv the branches were doing this, but the time reversals/day returns would be then paid only for the sephirahs, maager and the gear? surely not everything could go back, that might be prohibitively expensive
