These sentiments are being caused by bad branding. Party leaders are talking crazy about "orange man bad" and "fighting for democracy" and they are not being realistic about their ability to lawfully stop MAGA of Trump. This results in their base seeing them and unwilling to fight when in reality they should just shut the fuck up and put expectations in line with their ability.
