>Repetitive combat with obnoxious mechanics like STAMINA
The combat is the best part of it by far, what are you talking about? Stamina is a good thing as is body damage because it means you have to play differently and be more careful and deliberate, and body damage is extremely detrimental. It also made Heat something to conserve and made taunting way more worth doing since a fully executed taunt leveled you a tier. Then you have the upper, middle, and lower positions which each style has its own unique attacks of and all of the Tsukuhara Dojo special attacks to weave into it all. It's the most involved combat system in the series.
>barebones side content
What? It has a bunch of substories which all intersect like with the gangs all taking down Gaia in BP1, has an entire 1v1 ranked battle system in BP1 and BP2 each with their own unique fights and quirks like the enemy parrying or dodging more, BP2 has an entire separate multiplayer mode with AI partners that give you active buffs, you have the 30 something unique Crime Events in BP2, you have 5-7 part-time jobs, you have the postgame ranked fights in BP1 and I think BP2 had them as well, and then there's the hostesses.
You have to keep in mind this is also the PSP, not a console game. For what it was they had tons of content.
>worst mini-games in the series by far
I disagree to a degree. The part-time jobs are all perfectly fine, the issue with them is just the grind for maxing them out. The only bad ones are the Shine barker and Shine waiter since the former is just a random QTE and the latter is Simon Says.
Most of the minigames are just the exact same gambling ones from the mainlines.
Kamuro of the Dead is simple but fun for what the PSP could handle.
What sucks is baseball which is beyond terribly made and never fixed in BP2 and karaoke which is just mashing O to fill out a bar. Slots is also undeniably rigged unlikely in the main games.
